Starck has produced many designs that have become ‘classics’. These lemon squeezers designed in 1991 and made from cast aluminium, are particularly sculptural whilst remaining completely functional products. They were produced for Alessi. Amongst Starck’s many other creations of around the same time was the ‘Hot Bertaa’ kettle ... Amusing in that its label stated it must not be used when hot !
Undoubtedly one of the names that has become recognisable not only amongst designers but also amongst increasingly design conscious consumers.
With designs for electrical appliances, kitchen tools, clothes, lighting and vehicles - there is apparently no boundary to the areas in which he works.
